Dementia Friendly Wyoming Workshops

Join us for engaging, in-person workshops in the Community Room on selected Wednesdays.
These sessions are open to everyone and are particularly beneficial for individuals impacted by dementia, their care partners, and professionals aiming to enhance their dementia care skills.

The workshops incorporate perspectives from those living with dementia, their families, and Dementia Friendly Wyoming's Heather Comstock, MSc in Dementia Studies, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Care Partners' Resilience Workshop: Navigating Caregiving with Heart and Mindfulness

Welcome to our supportive workshop, specifically designed for family care partners and professionals.
In this session, you'll delve into the principles of psychological flexibility and mindfulness, discovering how they can transform your caregiving experience.
We offer easy-to-adopt, effective strategies aimed at managing stress and fostering resilience.
This workshop is not just about learning; it's also about connecting with a community of caregivers, sharing experiences, and finding mutual support.

Workshop: Empathetically Recognizing Behavior as Communication

This session is designed to support everyone – from persons living with dementia to care partners, family members, and community members at large.
We offer strategies to empathetically recognize and adapt to various communication styles, including verbal and non-verbal cues, encountered in dementia.
Emphasizing perspective-taking, the workshop aims to enhance understanding and empathy across all interactions. This inclusive session provides practical skills and compassionate strategies, making it an invaluable resource for effective communication support within our community.
